Mission and History

Parents for Student Success is a non profit 501 (c) 3 organization registered in Washington State, USA.  In 1989, neighbors Dr. Ellie Graham, M.D, MPH. and Dawn Mason, M.Ed resided in a neighborhood that was  home to Seattle’s lowest performing schools with high drop out rates. The impact of school failure was felt throughout the community even among those without school age children.

Parents for Student Success was created  as an advocacy organization and has evolved over the years. After several years of one on one parent advocacy that we decided to look at ways to impact systems.  Help re-think the most impactful way for parents to be involved with their children. We consult with schools and organizations on ways to best involve parents for an improved impact on student learning and social well being.  We consult with school administrators, assisting with the development of custom parent and community involvement methods and practices.  Our initial Student Success Center established in two elementary schools in Seattle; Hawthorne and Orca are now implemented in several schools.  Our classroom and school observations allows a school to be seen through the eyes of parents.

We now extend our reach to assure the holistic health and safety of the world's children living and learning outside of the USA, in South America, Central America and Kenya, East Africa.
